Tri Rex and Modifiers!
There are basically 3 areas of modifiers that we care about with tris, one deals with amount of pattern (booted for example), another deals with the amount of black to orange, and the last has to do with spot size and clarity (muddy vs clear). Like all genes, these stack and combine to give different looks.
I’ll try and put a bunch of pictures for all these guys, as i describe some of the common phenotypes:
Booted Tri: minimal white(usually on feet, throat and forehead, maybe less).
Leopard spot Tri (type of booted): key difference is they have lots of larger spots, ideally well defined.
Buckshot tri (booted + open pattern): a tri with white spots blasted throughout, spotting can be variable. The key trait is irregular margins between white and coloured areas with white spots into the coloured pattern
Open pattern tri: minimal pattern, sometime often hidden as false charlies. Normal coverage is blasted open.
Dalmatian tri (related to open pattern tri): ideally lacks dorsal stripe with clear separated spots over the body.
Show Marked tri: Any combinations of pattern that abides by the more then 10% less then 50% colour requirements and has at least a dot of colour on the nose.
Harlies: the solid form of tri (will hide the broken pattern modifiers that they carry), but will showcase the black orange ratio and margin modifiers well. bigger blockier bars tend to equal clearer margined spots in brokens, and fuzzy edged bars can equal muddy patterns on tri offspring. the darker over all the higher the black orange ratio.
